Job Details

The CNC Programmer located in Grandview, MO reports to our Plant manager and is responsible for developing new CNC programs, designing tooling and creating machining processes. The Sr CNC Mfg Eng is seen as a leader and the subject matter expert in the area of metal machining. These functions are performed in a fast paced manufacturing environment that produces existing and new products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new machining processes to produce new parts or improve existing parts produced on CNC equipment. Review part prints to identify tooling and fixture needs, developing new fixtures or altering existing fixtures as needed. Write new CNC programs, complete initial setup and troubleshoot the new process.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in the machining processes and implement those changes from idea to realization.
  • Identify, justify and implement new capital purchase
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to machinist and supervisors
  • Assist in training of setup operators and machine operators on multiple machine platforms
  • Work with Design Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues and strive to improve manufacturability of product design
  • Assist in implementing and managing an effective machine data collection system
  • Create machine shop documentation and provide work instructions to ensure process control
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in his/her immediate area of responsibility.
  • Assure strict adherence to company safety and health standards.

Requirements
Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:
  • Must have sufficient experience and training in machine shop practices.
  • Expertise in machine programming, set-up, and operation of both manual and CNC equipment
  • Extensive knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, 2D and 3D models.
  • Experience as a leader and proven ability to effectively lead individuals and teams.
  • Expertise and experience running, setting up and programming multiple machine platform types (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes)
  • Must display and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to present and implement positive change
Working Conditions:
Work environment is very fast paced. Work is primarily conducted on the shop floor.
